About the Founder
Brianna Nichols
Brianna Nichols is a compassionate Army veteran with over 15 years of experience in childcare, newborn care, and child development. With a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and ongoing studies in mental health counseling, Brianna brings both expertise and empathy to her work. Her journey into maternal care began with a deep passion for supporting women during one of the most critical times in their lives—the postpartum period.
Driven by her own experiences and the alarming disparities faced by Black women in maternal healthcare, Brianna founded The Doula Society to create a space where all women, regardless of their background, can feel safe, supported, and empowered. Her vision extends beyond traditional postpartum care. She envisions a state-of-the-art birthing center that feels like a luxury retreat—a place where new mothers can not only give birth but also heal, relax, and receive holistic care. This center will offer everything from therapy and wellness services to grief counseling, all in a beautiful, welcoming environment.
Brianna's ultimate goal is to make this level of care accessible to all, especially those who might not otherwise afford it. Through The Doula Society, she aims to revolutionize the way we approach maternal care, providing a comprehensive support system that follows women throughout their entire journey into motherhood. Her passion and vision are the driving forces behind The Doula Society's mission to transform the maternal care landscape, one family at a time.
